Nelson man smashed CCTV camera as he ‘did not like being filmed’.
A MAN who smashed up a CCTV camera at a chemist’s shop did not like being filmed, a court heard.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL — A teen-aged boy, we’ll call him A.B., took the stand to testify against a former family friend.
The boy said when he was 12 his abuser forced him into oral sex in a number of locations.

“Anywhere in his truck, in my bedroom, in the living room where the tape was taken and also in his bedroom,” A.B. told the court.

In court today the state revealed how the defendant, William Romines, befrinded the family soon after the boy’s father had died. He showered A.B. with gifts and drove him to school. The mother became suspicious and installed a hidden camera.

“I never thought that I was going to discover something so ugly,” she testified.

The abuse was caught on tape. Today, that video was shown to the jury.

It’s not the only case where home cameras have caught questionable behavior or crimes.

Mike Haldas sells and installs surveillance systems through his company, CCTV Camera Pros. Some of them look like motion detectors.

“This little hole right here is actually a camera. It can capture a room up to about 15×15,” he said.

He said technology is helping parents keep an eye on the home while they’re away, and watch what’s going on over the internet.

“It’s much more affordable for people to do things like nanny cams where they can keep an eye on the home if they have a nanny or an elderly person being taken care of,” said Haldas.

He said home security cameras account for about 35% of his business.

As far as we know, today’s case against Romines is still ongoing.

Councillors want to increase CCTV cameras in town

October 15, 2008 raymondbond007 Leave a comment

Morley Independent councillors feels that the number cameras installed in the town are not enough to extend surveillance in areas including Corporation Street and Queensway although most of the Queen Street is covered by the surveillance system.

A report showed that most of the arrests had been made because of the CCTV camera footage but quiet a few suspects were often unable to be captured because of the limitations in reach by the 5 CCTV cameras in operation.

But hold on the CCTV will not watch the private activities, but instead any objectionable activities in the general washing area. The place in the article in with the security measure is The Weighing Machine, in Wavertree, Liverpool.

The pub feels it will be an embarrassing moment for the customers to be watched in toilet.
